No "Common Fisheries Policy"

We will still need to abide by the policy if we want to sell to the EU.

Result: Neither

Historically the main issue is down to limits applied to fishing, intended to reduce the amount of over-fishing.

These limits are applied based on the kind of fish being caught.

This has meant that if someone accidentally caught a kind of fish that had exceeded their quota (or simply wasn't worth much), they were often thrown back in the sea, dead.

Concerns about this practice have been raised since 2010, and over the years discard bans and quota changes have been implemented by the EU, the primary votes for which were cast in 2013 and implemented by the individual countries by 2016.

Which is interesting, as publications like the Express continued to use headlines such as "Fishermen demand EU quota change after throwing back sea bass worth £10,000 in ONE CATCH", in 2017.

So that issue seems to have been resolved, so what are the other problems with the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP)?
