We can limit immigration

We could already - like Spain, Germany, Belgium, etc.

Result: Bad

The UK is allowed to apply limits to "freedom of movement", the main one is the requirement to have a job after 3 months, or have have sufficient resources to not become a burden to the country (more info).

The UK can also "choose, on a case-by-case basis, whether or not to adopt EU rules on immigration, visa and asylum policies" (source).

And not being a member of the EU won't stop illegal immigration - which will now have a risk of increasing (assuming people still want to come to the UK, which has become an increasingly hostile environment, stagnant wages, risks of workers rights being removed, etc).
